About the Consultant

Rishi Goel graduated in 2004 from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Medical Schools, London and subsequently undertook specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine. During this time, he spent 3 years at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals in clinical research on the Genetics and Microbiology of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, as well as learning advanced endoscopy techniques.

He has undertaken clinical attachments in Australia, India, Japan and the South Pacific islands. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles, authored many abstracts, written a textbook chapter and online study resource. He also regularly presents at national and international meetings.

He is currently involved in clinical research and is a principal investigator for a novel inflammatory bowel disease treatment trial. In 2016, he was appointed as a full-time Consultant in Gastroenterology at Kingston Hospital and is currently the lead for the Endoscopy and Inflammatory Bowel Disease services.

His personal interests include amateur motor racing, filmmaking and playing squash.
